Ace filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s elder brother & producer Vir Chopra, passes away after battling COVID 19
Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s elder brother and producer Vir Chopra has crossed the rainbow bridge. Reportedly, Chopra lost the battle to COVID-19 on Monday. His family unlocked the door to a hospital in suburban Mumbai where he was admitted and being treated for Coronavirus for almost 21 days.
The producer was on a vacation in Maldives when his health slumped. There is not much clarity but it seems that Chopra contracted coronavirus when he was in Maldives. After shelling out a couple of days, he was rushed to Mumbai and was admitted in an ICU in a hospital. He was being monitored continuously for three weeks but failed to resist the virus due to health complications.
Vir Chopra was a film producer and he worked with Vidhu Vinod Chopra on several films like 3 Idiots, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S and Lage Raho Munna Bhai. He was the creative producer of films like Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Mission Kashmir, Parineeta, Broken Horses and Kareeb.
Film critic Anupama Chopra, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s wife, confirmed the news of Vir’s demise on Instagram. “Vinod always said that Vir was his better version – nice to a fault , highly educated and measured instead of volatile.”
