COVID-19: Professional training at Delhi schools allowed with 50% capacity

The Delhi government on Sunday issued fresh guidelines to further ease the Covid-19 curbs in the city, allowing auditoriums and assembly halls in Delhi schools to be used for training and meeting purposes.

However, physical teaching and learning will continue to remain suspended, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority said in its order on Sunday.

All training including those conducted by the Delhi and army; skill training by any institute, employee training, and school/college training are now allowed in Delhi.

The auditorium and assembly halls of schools or educational institutions can be opened for these training and programmes but only with 50 percent seating capacity.

Institutes do not need special permission from the Delhi Disaster Management authority for the same.

Meanwhile, all schools colleges, educational, and coaching institutions will remain closed, and online or distance learning will be permitted, said the order.

Other prohibited activities and services include cinema halls, multiplexes, spas, theatres, entertainment parks, political, social, cultural festivals, and such other gatherings. These were banned with the imposition of lockdown in Delhi on April 19 due to surging COVID infections.
