Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari on Thursday inaugurated an Emergency landing field on National Highway 925 at Gandhav Bhakasar Section at Barmer, in Rajasthan. Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat was also present at Emergency Field Landing at the National Highway in Jalore. Rajnath and Gadkari landed during the demonstration on the national highway in Rajasthan’s Barmer district aboard the C-130 J Super Hercules aircraft of the Indian Air Force (AIF).

“The first aircraft to land during the demonstration would be the C-130 Super Hercules transport aircraft with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria inside it,” said Indian Air Force.

During the landing demonstration, Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft landed at Emergency Field Landing at the National Highway in Jalore, Rajasthan.
According to an official statement, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has developed a 3-km section of Satta-Gandhav stretch of NH-925A as an Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) for the Indian Air Force.
