After a five-year gap, Karan Johar will helm a film for Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. He announced the film on Ranveer’s birthday, July 6. Ranveer and Alia’s second collaboration will be this movie. The two were previously spotted together in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy (2019).
Social media users received a teaser video from Karan Johar announcing his new project. In his message, the filmmaker wrote he would be directing Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Sumit Roy, Shashank Khaitan, and Ishita Moitra wrote the project. Sharing the same Karan Johar wrote, “Thrilled to get behind the lens with my favourite people in front of it! Presenting Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, headlined by none other than Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan & Sumit Roy (sic).”
In addition to announcing a new project on Twitter on his birthday, Ranveer Singh also took to social media to reveal a new project, “A special announcement on my special day! Presenting – Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani along with my dazzling supernova Alia Bhatt, directed by the genre himself, kaleidoscopic visionary Karan Johar, & written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan & Sumit Roy. Coming to charm you in 2022! #RockyAurRaniKiPremKahani #RRKPK (sic).”
Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani is expected to drop in 2022.
