Mumbai police record Shilpa Shetty’s statement: Content on Hotshot are erotica, not porn said the actress

On Friday, Mumbai Police recorded a statement from actress Shilpa Shetty about her husband’s alleged involvement in the creation and distribution of pornographic content. Kundra, who was arrested on July 19 is currently under judicial custody till July 27.

According to sources, Shilpa denied being involved in the production of adult films. Branch officials have also seized electronic gadgets while raiding their houses. As per the report, the actress said that the movies available on Hotshot are not pornography but erotica. She also said that similar content is also available on various OTT platforms, which are more obscene. Both the businessman and the actress both denied being involved in the production of adult films.

An official told the daily, “We have enough evidence that he (Raj Kundra) was dealing with everything, his brother-in-law was made the owner of the London-based company just for namesake”. The crime branch investigating the case has not found Shilpa to be directly linked to the case. But Shilpa was questioned about her exit from Viaan Industries in 2020.

The crime branch is also looking into Shilpa’s bank statements to see if she profited from the creation of pornographic content. Kundra’s two bank accounts are also under the scanner, as the data hints that Raj was using the profit earned from the racket for online betting.

Police sources said the WhatsApp group created for the production of such content hints at Kundra’s involvement. Raj Kundra’s lawyer approached Bombay High Court and claimed his arrest in the matter was “illegal.”
