Kangana Ranaut records her statement before Mumbai Police

Kangana Ranaut recently appeared before the Mumbai Police to record her statement regarding an FIR registered against her that allegedly linked farmers’ protests.

Kangana Ranaut recently appeared before the Mumbai Police to record her statement regarding an FIR registered against her for a post that allegedly linked farmers’ protests to a separatist group. However, Kangana was asked to visit on Wednesday but she couldn’t attend. Therefore, the actress arrived in Mumbai’s Khar Police Station on 23rd December.

Meanwhile, a protest can be organized against her by the Sikh community, therefore, a team of CRPF is located as a precaution. An FIR was registered against Ms. Ranaut at Khar police station previous month following a complaint by a Sikh organisation. The police earlier this month issued a notice to her for the interrogation. After managing the busy schedule, she was finally appeared on 23rd December.

However, the city police had earlier informed the Bombay High Court that they will not arrest Kangana till January 25, 2022. The police had made the statement after the HC stated the issue involved the larger question of Kangana’s fundamental right to free speech and that the court will have to permit her some ad-interim relief.

Meanwhile, Ms. Ranaut is booked on charges of deliberately hurting the community’s religious sentiments, under Section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code.
