Orion, one of the largest food companies in South Korea and makers of the original Choco-Pie, has announced a specially curated summertime snack, Mango Choco-Pie for the Indian consumers. The new snack is conceptualised and made in India and comes packed with two of India’s favourite delicacies – Mango and Chocolate.
Saurabh Saith, CEO, Orion India said, “Launch of the Mango Choco-Pie is in line with our commitment to bring quality products and a unique taste to Indian consumers. We have combined India’s favorite fruit mango and chocolate to make a perfect snack for the summers in our first ‘conceptualized and made in India’ offering and hoping that consumers love it as much as we do.”
He added, “In just two years of our entry to India, we’ve managed to grow substantially. In the year 2021 itself, we grew by 700% and expanded to new geographies and new product segments with our products like the Custas Cupcakes, O’ Rice Crackers and Choco Chip Cookies to meet the growing demand of variety & range-seeking Indian consumers.”
Orion Mango Choco-Pie is 100% vegetarian with 40% of its centre is filled with jam made with real Alphonso mango. The new fruity variant is now available across online and offline channels retailing at ₹90 and ₹180 for cases containing 6 pieces and 12 pieces, respectively. Each piece weighs 28g. In addition to this, the Mango Choco-Pies have also been launched at a magical price of ₹10, with one Choco-Pie weighing 25g.
The company is also running a digital campaign inviting consumers and influencers to share their special recipes made with the Orion Mango Choco-Pie.
India is Orion’s 10th overseas production base with other manufacturing facilities spread across countries like Korea, Vietnam and Russia. The company’s India plant is focused on catering to local taste preferences and is producing a 100% vegetarian range of Choco-Pies. Since its entry to India, the company has onboarded 300 employees to drive the brand’s growth and is currently aiming at adding 700 more to its India team in the next two years.
