Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19, for his alleged involvement in an adult film racket. According to the reports, it is believed that Kundra avoided the arrest till now by paying off a bribe of Rs. 25 lakh to the Mumbai Crime Branch.
These accusations are levelled by Arvind Srivastava aka Yash Thakur who is another key conspirator of the racket. At first, Arvind complained about Kundra’s bribe offers to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) then filed another complaint to the Mumbai police chief back in April. It is speculated that the bribery complaint was filed via email with screenshots of the apparent bribe, but the complaint did not state Kundra’s name.
Recently, the complaint was thoroughly investigated again. “The ACB investigates only if there is demand for money and it can lay a trap. Since, in this case, the money had already exchanged hands, as alleged, the complaint was forwarded to the concerned department (Mumbai police) to initiate an action.” a senior-level ACB officer told Mid-Day.
These allegations were brought to highlight soon after the 45-year-old businessman’s arrest on Monday (July 19) by the Mumbai Crime Branch. Currently, Raj Kundra along with the other correspondent are in judicial custody in connection with a pornography racket that was posted through an app called Hotshots.
