Russian model and “Kanchana 3” actress Alexandra Djavi was found hanging in a rented house in Goa’s Siolim on August 18. Goa police speculate it to be a case of suicide but are waiting for the post mortem report.
Later, it was disclosed that Alexandra was ‘mentally disturbed’ and was under medication. “In the absence of her boyfriend, she died by suicide by hanging herself on a ceiling fan hook in the kitchen with a red sari. When her boyfriend reached the house, he found the main door latched from inside, and there was no response from the deceased,” said the officials.
Goa police further said there was no foul play in the case. According to reports, in 2019 24-year-old actress filed a police complaint against a photographer in Chennai for sexual harassment.
Alexandra accused the photographer of seeking sexual favours in return for clicking photos, and he was later arrested. Greater Chennai police have now said they would assist Goa police with any details of the 2019 case.
Djavi played the role of a revenge-seeking ghost in Kanchana 3. The film was directed by Raghava Lawrence who also played the main role in the film. She also shared screens with Bigg Boss Tamil contestant Oviya, Vedhika and Bigg Boss 14 contestant Nikki Tamboli, who played other female leads in the film.
