Alia Bhatt surely is going great guns in her career. Recently her latest outing with a south film industry film RRR didn’t do justice to her screen time and reportedly, the actor was extremely irked with the makers of the film who had given the male actors of the film more prominence in the film and the promotion. If media reports are to be believed, director Rajamouli was at the receiving end of Alia’s anger because of this. However, in front of the cameras, Alia stated that she did not really have any bad blood with the makers of the film. Ahem… ahem…

More recently, the actress shared a photo of herself from a flight on her official Instagram handle. Yes, that’s right. In the post, she also revealed that she is leaving for the shoot of her very first Hollywood film and she also opened up about her nervousness. She wrote, “And off I go to shoot my first ever Hollywood film!!!! Feel like a newcomer all over again – sooooo nervous!!!!

No sooner did she post the photo, than her Bollywood counterparts started wishing her all the luck for her Hollywood outing in the comments section. Arjun Kapoor, Alia’s mother Soni Razdan, her sister Pooja Bhatt, her sister-in-law Riddhima Kapoor Sahni rooted for her success amongst others. Soni Razdan wrote, “Wishing you all the luck in the whole world” and left three heart emojis, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni wrote, ” we love you” and left two heart emojis, Arjun Kapoor called her,”International Khiladi” and left a fire emoji with his comment, her sister Pooja Bhatt wrote, “Life is now making possible what was absolutely inevitable! The WORLD is your playground! And you will dazzle even more! So proud!”, she left a high five emoji and a heart emoticon as well alongside her comment.

Well, we all know that ALia Bhatt’s role was cut short in a big-budget south film like RRR, she was literally reduced to nothing ad at the same time we all know that most of the Indian actors along with Irrfan Khan and Anil Kapoor who have shot for Hollywood films did not have chunky roles in them, the only exception to his rule being Priyanka Chopra, now it won’t take long before we discover whether the same fate awaits Alia Bhatt or whether she really manages to grab a good amount of screen time with a worthy role in the Hollywood film!

Ranbir Kapoor- Alia Bhatt All Wedding Details With Time And Venue

The speculations about Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding have been doing the rounds for a long time now. The have been several dates literally swarming in the media circuit. However, we have an update about the marriage and the intricate details about the attendees of the marriage. Yes, you read that right.

Well, all the wedding ceremonies will be held at a building called Vastu that is situated in Mumbai’s Pali Hill area according to an NDTV report.

The report further states that a puja was held today in the presence of immediate family after lunch at 2 PM and thereafter the Mehendi ceremony began. The rituals are attended by close family members and very intimate friends. There will be no other function held today. However, Alia’s very close friends are expected to visit her today. Ranbir Kapoor’s cousins Karisma and Kareena are already there at the Mehendi ceremony and his best friend Ayan Mukherji too is present there as well.

The report further stated that the wedding will take place at their flat at the Vastu building tomorrow at 3 PM. This again will be a very intimate affair with just family and very close friends. The report further stated that because Ranbir is a very private person and Alia too they wanted their wedding to be in this way.

The building where all the ceremonies will be held i.e. Vastu has been brimming with activities since yesterday, the entire building has been lit up, there are crockeries moving in and out, the police had also arrived to keep a track of the security arrangements and the interiors have also been very lavishly decorated. In addition to Vastu, Krishna Raj has also been lit up. Krishna Raj is the building in which Alia and Ranbir will live after they get married.

The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial tells the story of Ganga Kathiawadi, a carefree lass from Gujarat who is lured into the meshes of love and is tricked into being sold at a brothel in Mumbai’s infamous red-light district Kamathipura. From thereon begins her journey of becoming the reigning mafia queen in the area who fought for the rights of the women in the flesh trade.

Ganga falls in love with her suitor Ramnik who, aware of her ambition to become an actor inveigles her to flee to Bombay with him. The innocent soul that she is, fills her bags with the cash from her mother’s cupboard and boards a train en-route Bombay with the love of her life. Ramnik sells her into a brothel for a thousand bucks and abandons her. Here she is raped and brutalized and eventually becomes one with her plight. It is not late before she manages to garner the attention of a local political chieftain Karim Lala played by Ajay Devgn and becomes his close aide. With his help, she climbs the ladder of crime and harbours the ambition of contesting the election in the area and winning it. This brings her face to face with her rival Raziabai who will go to any extent to make Gangu’s life a living hell. Thanks to all her underworld connections, she manages to win the election and also ends up meeting the then Prime Minster Nehru.

Sanjay’s direction looks a little loose with some careless continuity errors. His grip on characterisation too falls short with the film as the looks and mannerisms of a seasoned prostitute don’t quite fit the bill, especially when compared to the other actresses who have played the role of a courtesan so effortlessly in the past, Mr Bhansali tries real hard to make his Gangubai convincing. Such roles require a certain amount of what I would call a somber calm, a “thehrao” in the demeanour, a certain amount of weight on the face and her very being. This was clearly missing. Well, the intention was to see the 50s and 60s era, whereas the body language of the main characters looked modern. That’s where it all fell short!

The film which is a screen adaptation from one of the chapters of the true-crime reportage bestseller Mafia Queens of Mumbai by Hussain Zaidi has Alia Bhatt playing the lead role. Alia as Gangubai tries her best to look the part. She is a good actress but she tries a little too hard to fit into the shoes of the brothel madam. The first half doesn’t even look convincing. However, things change quite drastically post the interval. This could possibly be because of the sudden change in the graph of her character, the dialogues which were far better than the ones we hear in the first half.

Shantanu Maheshwari plays a twenty-something tailor who is smitten by Gangu. His characterisation and mannerisms too are half-baked. In one scene, where there is a gala celebration of his marriage with another girl, there is a shot wherein he has a haphazard look on his face trying to figure out how could the lady who he knew loved him get him married to some other girl and in the very next shot he is seen laughing. His mannerisms too didn’t seem restrained in the scenes he was part of especially when his characterisation required it. He is better off doing bits and pieces on television and ALTBalaji web series. However, this was Mr. Bhansali’s shortcoming, and he probably overlooked all of it. Where is the direction, I ask.

Seema Pahwa was befitting as the madam of the brothel Gangu was sold into. She didn’t have much to do though, as far as continuity errors are concerned there are quite a few in the scenes she was part of as well. Ajay Devgn as underworld don Rahim Lala has a guest appearance in the film, he performs his role to the T. We don’t see much of him in the film but as usual, he acts with his eyes and is good with what he does in the film.

Mr Pallab Chanda’s art direction though stole the show. The sets were an exact look-alike of the buildings in the area, the curved art-deco type constructions that make way for many little lanes lined with theatres are still very much a part of Kamathipura. The background score and music by Ankit Balhara, Sanchit Balhara and Sanjay Leela Bhansali did play their part in evoking emotions in the scenes that required them. The cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee too was an okay job done which an abundance to low angle shots we see in most of the Bhansali films, nothing stands out though.

There were many inspirations that were taken from several films of the yesteryears, for instance, there is a scene where Shantanu’s character serenades Gangu in a “Baggi”or a horse-cart, the entire sequence seemed to be lifted from Kamal Amrohi’s Pakeezah, where Ashok Kumar is serenading Meena Kumari in a “baggi” with her head resting on his lap. All in all it is definitely a one time watch film but instead of watching in theatres, you can surely wait for it to hit Netflix.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are the most talked about couple in B-town. The duo returned from their New Years getaway on the 3^rd January. They were pretty hush hush about it and they ever disclosed where they went to spent the festive season. It was because of an Instagram post by author Lisa Christofferson that it was revealed that they were touring South Africa.

Well, yes, you read that right. The couple were enjoying an African safari. The picture shared on Lisa’s social media shares the duo being handed a book by her as they are all smiles for the camera.

L:isa wrote, “A chance rendezvous while on safari. Had a wonderful time chatting with the super nice Bollywood stars from India @aliaabhatt and #ranbirkapoor. Gifted them a copy of my book, Bush Friendly Tips for Girls (Boys Too)! – A Living Safari Guide to Kenya. I’m sure it will come in handy during their travels through East Africa!”

SS Rajamouli shares his view on Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn’s roles in RRR: ‘They are cameos, won’t cheat my audience’

SS Rajamouli directorial RRR is all set to hit screens on January 7. However, Rajamouli in a recent interview with indianexpress.com confirmed that Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt have cameos in the film which directly impact the story.

Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli was asked about Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn’s characters and length of their roles. To this, he stated “A role cannot be based on its length. Both Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn’s roles are very important. If we look at RRR as a body, then Ajay sir’s character in the film is its soul. And we know there are two forces, two powerhouses in the movie, and if there is one person who has to balance them, who has the ability and the strength to contain them, then it is Sita, played by Alia Bhatt. They are playing cameos in the film, I am not going to cheat the audience about it. In terms of importance, they are equally and sometimes they are more important than the heroes themselves.”

Moreover, speaking about the impact of Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn cast to Hindi-speaking audiences to watch RRR, he stated, “No, and I am very sure about it. When I made Makkhi or Baahubali, I never looked for actors to be from other languages to fill in some sort of economic conditions. But, it is always about actors fitting the characters convincingly and having personality traits that the characters demand and deserve.”

‘RRR’ makers planned an extravaganza event for promoting it in Mumbai on Sunday titled ‘Roar of RRR’. The lead stars like Ram Charan, Jr NTR and Alia Bhatt attended the event, moreover, mega star Salman Khan also joined them on stage. And the event will be aired on Star TV very soon.

However, Karan Johar, actor Shriya Saran and director SS Rajamouli were also a part of the event. On the other hand, during the RRR event, Salman surprised the audience by making a big announcement that Bajrangi Bhaijaan is on the cards.

Bhaijaan made the revelation while talking about how SS Rajamouli’s father K.V Vijayendra Prasad gave him one of his biggest films. As KJo asked, “So can we say, this is the official announcement of the film?” to this, Salman replied in affirmative.

Moreover, Salman Khan said about Ram Charan that he knows him for a while. Mr. Khan also called him the ‘most hardworking’ man. As he added that every time he meets Ram Charan, he is injured because of the efforts he puts in each of his projects. He furthter stated that no one should release their film for four months to avoid the massive competition.

On the other hand, Director Rajamouli also appreciated his actors. According to Pinkvilla report, the filmmaker also spoke about the differences between the two stars. “Many people asked me what’s the diff between Tarak and Charan. Charan is like a deep river filled with the brim. He is calm, but there is a lot of potential energy inside. Tarak is a thundering waterfall, full of life. That is kinetic energy.”

The director also opened up about their introduction scene in RRR, “The kind of trouble I gave them. For Tarak’s intro section, we made him run in a jungle in Bulgaria without chappals. And he ran like a tiger. As for Charan, we pushed him in the middle of 2000 people, there was sweat, dust, and blood. It is one of the best I have shot in my career.”

It was in the month of November 2020 that many media publications reported Farhan Akhtar’s collaboration with director Ashutosh Gowariker for his next adventure drama.

And it was in August 2021, that Farhan officially declared the film titled Pukar which was to be produced under his banner Excel entertainment.

There were also reports of actress Rakul Preet Singh and south actor Jagapathy Babu have been roped in for integral roles and that the shooting of the film would be commencing in November 2021.

However, according to a Peepingmoon report, the film has not gone on floors yet and on the contrary has been postponed indefinitely.

According to a peeping moon source, the film has been put on hold because of script issues. “”The script of this film went through many reworks in the last one year but it wasn’t going anywhere. The makers couldn’t crack the final draft, and hence they collectively agreed to shelve this film for the time being,” the source told the publication.

The report further states that the pre-production of the film has also been halted after the last-minute decision.

The film was supposed to bring to the forefront the issue of forest preservation, Farahan Akhtar was to play a forest ranger while Rakul Preet was to be his love interest in the film. Jagapathy Babu was to be the antagonist character in the film. The film was supposed to mark Javed Akhtar’s return to screenwriting after a massive gap of 15 years. His last film was Shah Rukh Khan’s Don.

As the film is put on the back burner, Ashutosh and Farhan have already moved their focus on their other projects. Ashutosh is still trying to figure out what his next film will be and Farhan is busy with the pre-production of his directorial venture Jee Le Zaraa, which is a road trip movie starring Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. Jee Le Zaraa is scheduled to go on floors in mid 2022.

Action can be taken against Alia Bhatt under Pandemic Act for not following COVID norms. As she attended Karan Johar’s party on Dec 8. While other guests like Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Arora, Seema Khan and Maheep Kapoor tested COVID positive; fortunately, Alia Bhatt’s tested negative.

However, as per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) rules, someone with high risk contact is required to home quarantine for 14 days. But Alia is not following the rule as she went to Delhi for promoting her upcoming film Brahmastra. Therefore, BMC is probing the matter now.

As per report, Alia Bhatt going to Delhi, the health department of BMC H West ward contacted Alia’s manager on Wednesday. The health department had advised Alia to stay in Delhi after breaking quarantine norms. However, the actress returned to the city late at night on Wednesday.

Alia has also shared pictures of her visiting Delhi’s Bangla Sahab gurdwara with filmmaker Ayan Mukerji.

Meanwhile, director Karan Johar threw a private bash following which the aforementioned B-Town celebs tested positive on Sunday. Currently, they have been shunted to home quarantine and treatment in their sealed flats while the BMC H-West Ward has taken up sanitization of the four buildings.

The power couple Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal are all set to tie the knot very soon. As per ETimes report, Salman Khan’s sister Arpita confirmed that none of them from her family had been invited to the Rajasthan wedding. As she said, “So, we won’t be going”.

However, The episode of not sending an invitation to Salman’s family seems very condemnable as Katrina and Salman have done several films together after their break-up and answered joint interviews as well. Moreover, the actress recently seen on ‘Bigg Boss’ for the promotions of ‘Sooryavanshi’.
