Mumbai becomes first district to administer 1 crore COVID-19 vaccines

Mumbai on Friday became the first district to complete one crore vaccinations against Covid-19, according to the data published on CoWin portal. Mumbai has administered a total of 1,00,60,411 crore vaccine doses till Friday, covering 78% of the adult population with at least one shot. Mumbai has administered 72.74 lakh people with dose and 27.86 doses with dose two.

Mumbai reported 422 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the third straight day of more than 400 infections, and three fresh fatalities, while 303 patients recovered from the disease.

The city has been witnessing a steady rise in COVID-19 cases the day after reporting 190 infections on August 16, which was the lowest daily count since April 2020.

Lockdown would not be imposed in Maharashtra in the coming days, health minister Rajesh Tope said on Friday. “There is no possibility of fresh lockdown in the near future. I appeal to people to avoid crowding while celebrating the Ganesh festival. The celebration should be simple,” he told.

“The government has been issuing various guidelines and they should be followed all the time,” he added. Maharashtra reported 4,313 new COVID-19 cases and 92 deaths on Friday.

Mumbai has 42 sealed buildings through slums and ‘chawls’ have remained free of containment zones since mid-August.

The contestants of Bigg Boss Telugu 5 test COVID positive

The Bigg Boss Telugu 5, teaser was recently released, though an official announcement is soon to made. Reportedly, Nagarjuna Akkineni is soon to host this season as well, which will be starting from the first week of September. Amidst the pandemic, the makers have decided to release the teaser with high expectations and according to the reports the quarantined contestants of the season have been tested COVID positive.

Maintaining the COVID protocols, the contestants were kept in quarantine, which is reportedly to start from September 5, and few of them have tested positive. Though an official report is yet to come out.

The final contestants of the show of season 5, who are finalised are, Shanmukh Jaswanth, Anchor Ravi, Priya, RJ Kajal, Anchor Lobo, Lahari Shari, Sarayu, Maanas of Koilamma fame, VJ Sunny, and Anne Master for a tenure of 100 days.

According to reports, Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru fame actor Kumana Sethuraman will also be a part of this show, and this time it will be way more grand , better and bigger.

Kajal Aggarwal bids an emotional goodbye to her upcomimg film ‘Uma’: it’s going to leave me with a massive, beautiful hangover

Actor Kajal Aggarwal got emotional as she completed filming for her film ‘Uma’. The film ‘Uma’ is directed by Tathagata Singha and is produced by Avishek Ghosh. The movie was shot in Kolkata while maintaining all the COVID- 19 protocols.

The film also stars Tinnu Anand, Harsh Chhaya, Meghana Malik, Gaurav Sharma, Shriswara and Ayoshi Talukdar. No information regarding the plot of the film has been disclosed as of yet.

Speaking about the film, Kajal said: “I’ve had a fabulous experience working on ‘Uma’. My director and all the artists and technicians were wonderful. Certain characters just stay with you and ‘Uma’ is going to leave me with a massive, beautiful hangover! This is one film which is all heart, I’m very excited about and will always cherish.”

Actress Kajal Aggarwal married her long-term boyfriend Gautam Kitchlu on October 30, 2020. Her movie ‘Uma’ is expected to be released in October 2021.

Kajal Aggarwal was last seen in Mosagallu, which hit the big screens on March 19 this year. Even though the film was mainly shot in Telugu, the dubbed versions were released in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. The plot revolves around a large-scale IT scam that is inspired by true events. This big-budget film was directed by Hollywood filmmaker Jeffrey Gee Chin. The film stars actors Vishnu Manchu, Kajal Aggarwal and Suniel Shetty in lead roles.
