“The first aircraft to land during the demonstration would be the C-130 Super Hercules transport aircraft with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria inside it,” said Indian Air Force.

During the landing demonstration, Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft landed at Emergency Field Landing at the National Highway in Jalore, Rajasthan.

According to an official statement, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has developed a 3-km section of Satta-Gandhav stretch of NH-925A as an Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) for the Indian Air Force.

In December 2020, the court directed the Juhu police to conduct an inquiry into Javed Akhtar’s complaint after which criminal proceedings were initiated against her, and she was issued a summons in February this year.

Earlier this year, Kangana through her counsel Rizwan Siddiquee, challenged the defamation proceedings that were initiated against her, saying that the court had failed to apply its mind to the case. Now, the Bombay High Court today has dismissed Ranaut’s plea filed seeking quashing of the criminal defamation proceedings initiated against her by a court in Mumbai based on lyricist Javed Akhtar’s complaint. High court judge, Justice Revati Mohite Dere, who had on September 1 reserved her order on the plea, said the applicant’s (Kangana Ranaut’s) petition “stands dismissed”.

PM Modi further shared an Instagram link and quoted: “This is how Congress trampled over our democratic ethos. We remember all those greats who resisted the Emergency and protected Indian democracy. #DarkDaysOfDemocracy”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also tweeted that the emergency was imposed to quell the voices against one family. He tweeted: “The Emergency imposed to quell the voices against one family is a dark chapter in the history of independent India. Salute to the sacrifice and sacrifice of all the countrymen who fought relentlessly for the protection of the constitution and democracy of the country while suffering the brutal tortures of the ruthless rule for 21 months.”

“On this day in 1975, Congress killed the world’s largest democracy by imposing emergency on the country in the interest and arrogance of power. Innumerable Satyagrahis were imprisoned overnight in the prison cell and locked the press. Taking away the fundamental rights of the citizens, made the Parliament and the court a mute spectator,” Shah further added.

Well, the emergency was imposed by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The emergency was in effect from June 25, 1975, until its withdrawal on March 21, 1977.
