During the visit, he noticed a school in a very shabby condition. Today, Akshay attended the virtual ceremony of laying the foundation of the school in Kashmir, for which he donated Rs. 1 crore.

The BSF has now taken to Twitter to share the news that a foundation stone has been laid for it. The school has been named after the actor Akshay Kumar’s father, the late Hari Om Bhatia.

After receiving reports of a drone being spotted at midnight, the J&K Police shot it down. Police also recovered improvised device from the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).

Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dingh had issued directions to officers to remain vigilant as terror outfits are continuously trying to use drones for terrorist activities.

“Terror outfits are continuously attempting to use drones for terrorist activities,” DGP Dilbag Singh had told PTI.

Since the drone attack at the Jammu airforce airbase on June 27, several drones have been spotted on multiple locations in Jammu in the last one month raising threat of another drone attack.

“What was made under the Constitution cannot be unmade by an Act of Parliament, misinterpreting and misinterpreting and misusing the provisions of the Constitution,” he said.

His remarks come ahead of the June 24 meeting convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi where 14 political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir, including four former chief ministers, have been invited for talks.

Mr Chidambaram noted that one should remember that the “dismembering” of J&K has been challenged in the Supreme Court and the cases are pending for nearly 2 years.

“Congress party’s position, reiterated yesterday, that full Statehood must be restored to J&K should clear any doubt or ambiguity,” he also said.
