As per reports the makers said, “In view of the current circumstances and new covid guidelines we have decided to postpone the theatrical release of our film Jersey. We have received immense love from you all so far and want to thank you all for everything. Until then everyone please stay safe and healthy, and wishing you all the best for the new year ahead!! Team Jersey!!”

Gowtham Tinnanuri directorial film, Jersey is a remake of a Telugu drama by the same name. In an interview with ETimes, Shahid stated, “I have seen a lot of cricket as I am a huge cricket buff. You cannot be as good as a professional cricketer playing at international level, you can’t get there. The idea was just to get the personality of a cricketer in my character. The story of ‘Jersey’ is being told with a lot of emotion. That’s why the people would like to see this film, else they would like to see a match. The film is an in-depth drama which gives you an understanding of what can go on inside a sportsperson.”

However, there is not confirmation of the film’s next release date. The makers of ‘Jersey’ are said to be in talks with an OTT platform for its digital release.

On Wednesday, Shahid, Mrunal and the team of Jersey released Baliye Re on social media.

Sharing the song, Shahid quoted, “This one wants to make me move. Super groovy Man dancing. Presenting the next song of our film #BaliyeRe.”

On the other hand, Mrunal Thakur shared the post saying, “💕💕
Let there be nothing between you and love! Presenting our next song #BaliyeRe from #Jersey in theatres 31st December 2021!”

Previously, the song Maiyya Mainu also showcased Mrunal and Shahid in a romantic avatar and fans appreciated the track as well.

In the recent video, Shahid can be seen madly in love with Mrunal, who ends up falling in love with him while he is a cricketer.

Moreover, the song is composed by Sachet-Parampara, crooned by Sachet Tandon, Stebin Ben & Parampara Tandon.

However, Jersey is all set to release on December 31, 2021.
