“It’s very rare that a female protagonist adds a punch. I am still craving to do that. I’m part of these films, they all have had an interesting arc to the characters. But if I’ve to compare it to what your male protagonist is doing (in the film), then you just can’t compare,” Kiara told PTI. Kiara who rose to prominence after her role in the film Kabir Singh, said that women don’t really get meaty roles in comedy films also because “that’s how the scripts are written, It definitely does disappoint. Maybe now’s the time you start speaking up and telling your director that you want more. Maybe now I will start doing that going forward.”

Bhool Bhulaiyaa frontlined by actor Kartik Aaryan is a remake of the Akshay Kumar starrer film of the same name and it starred Vidya Balan in the lead, the film was directed by Priyadarshan. Kiara feels that comedy is a very difficult genre and it doesn’t come naturally to everyone and she also thinks that Akshay and Diljit are very organic when it comes to comic relief. “Comedy is an extremely tough genre but I don’t think it gets enough credit. It doesn’t come naturally to many, some people are just gifted. Comedy with Diljit and Akshay is just so organic. They get that timing correct, which is crucial. That experience made me learn a lot because it was the first time I was doing it. Even in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, everyone was fantastic and gifted and on top of that, when you are being directed by Anees sir, whose hold on comedy is so strong, you are in safe hands.”

Kiara feels it is fair that people will definitely compare the two films because it is a part of a franchisee but their roles are different, “The film takes the franchise forward, with an entirely new script. Certain elements have been retained from the first part, just to keep the nostalgic value alive. There were no apprehensions about stepping into this world, despite being aware that it’s not a forgotten film. What helped me was that it had a new voice. People will compare the two films, and that’s fair because it’s a franchise, but not the characters because we are not playing the same parts.”

The makers of the film celebrate the joy of their success through their social media handle. Through their film they tried to portray the life of Param Vir Chakra-awardee Captain Vikram Batra, from his first posting in the army to his death in the Kargil War. The film was directed by Vishnuvardhan in his Bollywood debut and written by Sandeep Shrivastava and starred Sidharth Malhotra as Batra and Kiara Advani as his girlfriend Dimple Cheema. It was produced by Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment, with Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Shabbir Boxwala, Ajay Shah and Himanshu Gandhi serving as co-producers.

Shershaah was all about the life of Indian army captain Vikram Batra who was awarded with the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest award for valor for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War. The film also portrayed the love and care that he had for his country, family and his fiancée Dimple Cheema.

While talking of the film, Sandeep says that the film reviews say that Kiara had really less scenes in the film and her character was “reduced” to just playing the girlfriend of Captain Vikram Batra. But to this the writer had a different point of view, where he said it was just the perfect timing and role to capture the ‘essence’ of their relationship, considering how little time Dimple and Vikram had actually spent with each other.

In an interview with News18 Sandeep said, “When I was doing my research, and I interacted with Dimple, she said that Captain Batra and she knew each other for four years but the time they spent together was just about 40 days. I think that we have captured the essence of those 40 days, which means a lot to the wonderful lady whom I have a lot of respect. It is the essence of her feelings that is coming through the way Kiara has played the character, and that’s what’s really sticking to people.”

He then added, “So I do not think there was a need to add anything. It’s just the right amount. She is a very integral part of Captain Vikram Batra’s life, you cannot tell his story without his relationship with Dimple, and without what he did in the war. I think what we have done is struck the right balance. There are also so many views, which are just the contrary and they are saying that it is a perfect blend of his personal life and his life as a soldier.”

This depicts that the screenplay writer has done a lot of homework on the life of Captain Batra, for making this film the way it is.

Pawandeep Rajan was declared the winner of this season LIVE midnight, along with Arunita Kanjilal and Sayli Kamble ending up as the runner-ups.

Even after multiple criticisms over the last few weeks of this season, the show delivered its mettle by impressing the audiences in their grand finale episode.

The Student of the Year actor was the first person to shoulder the responsibility of relating the tale of Captain Vikram Batra ti Dharma Productions.

The movie is being touted as an inspirational biopic on the war-hero. It will project the struggle and valour of the Param Veer Chakra awardee.

The film was initially decided to release on 3 July 2020, but due to the outbreak of Coronavirus and the prolonged pandemic is scheduled to release on 12 August 2021 on Amazon Prime Video.

“It’s a love story set in the heartland of India and the makers were on the lookout for a fresh pairing. That’s when, Sameer, Sajid and other stakeholders decided on Kiara Advani. The actress, too, is all excited for her maiden collaboration with Sajid and a reunion with Kartik after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2,” a source close to the team revealed to Pinkvilla.

“Both Kartik and Kiara will complete their present commitments before moving onto this yet-untitled film. While Kartik’s character is called Satya, Kiara’s name in the film is Katha. The film is essentially a love story of Satya and Katha,” the source confirmed.

The film is currently in the prep stage and all the stakeholders are supremely excited about the film’s core premise as Bollywood will get to witness a quintessential love story after a while. The best of the technicians from the industry are expected to come on board, and the music sittings too have begun. “Any love story is incomplete without the music and the team is working towards creating soundtracks for Satya and Katha’s love story,” the source added.

At the moment, Kiara is the busiest bee in Bollywood. She was recently signed as the female lead of Shankar’s upcoming Pan India film with Ram Charan. The actress will also be a part of the director’s next with Ranveer Singh, which kicks off sometime next year. She is also reported to be a part of a young tiger, Jr. NTR’s upcoming film with Kortala Siva. While Kartik’s hands are full with movies like Dhamaka, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Freddy, Captain India and much more. Both Kartik and Kiara will soon start shooting for Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in Mumbai.

Speaking of director Sajid Nadiadwala, he recently wrapped up Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon’s movie Bachchan Pandey. Sajid is all set to finish up movies like Heropanti 2 with Tiger Shroff, Sanki with Varun Dhawan and Bhaijaan with Salman Khan.
