Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched “Sansad TV” along with Vice President of India and Rajya Sabha Chairperson, M Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla at the Main Committee room, Parliament House Annexe.

The launch date coincided with the International Day of Democracy, the PMO noted.

At launch of Sansad TV, PM Modi said, “This adds another important chapter in our parliamentary system.

In February 2021, the decision to merge Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV was taken and the CEO of Sansad TV was appointed in March 2021.

Sansad TV programming will primarily be in four categories – functioning of Parliament and democratic institution, governance and implementation of schemes/policies, history and culture of India and issues/interests/concerns of contemporary nature.

According to reports, veteran Congress leader Karan Singh, economic Bibek Debroy, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, and advocate Hemant Batra will host different shows on the new channel.

When Parliament is in session, Sansad TV will have two channels so that the proceedings of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha can be aired simultaneously.

iPhone 13 series is likely to launch sometime this month and the latest information from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman offers details on what the annual Apple fall launch event may introduce. The event is likely to bring the iPhone 13 range and the Apple Watch Series 7. While the report indicated smart watch production delays, Gurman says that the wearable will still be announced at the event. Availability is reported to be in limited quantities or delays for certain models. Gurman also says that iPhone 13’s anticipated satellite feature will only be available in select markets.

Gurman’s latest PowerOn newletter hints that the new iPhone 13 will reportedly get the anticipated satellite feature. The report also suggests that the iPhone 13 may not get the feature immediately and functionality is likely to go live next year. While the hardware support will be embedded in the iPhone 13 range, the feature will not be rolled out for a few months. Gurman clarifies that the feature will not allow users to use the iPhone 13 as a satellite phone and have the ability to make calls anywhere in the world without cellular coverage.

He adds, “That’s not happening now, next year or anytime in the near future. Launching such a feature would require hardware not ready for prime time, would be expensive and could cause a revolt from the iPhone carries that Apple relies on.” The new satellite feature will reportedly allow users to transmit short emergency texts and send SOS distress signals for crises, like plane crashes or sinking ships, in remote areas. The newsletter says that the emergency feature will only work in areas without any cellular coverage.

Amazon is reportedly preparing to launch its own Amazon-branded TVs, possibly as soon as October.

According to Insider, the TVs will have Alexa, screen sizes “in the range of 55 to 75 inches”, and will be designed and manufactured by third parties such as TCL.

The company has reportedly worked on the TV for two years and will initially launch in the US.

The e-commerce giant offers Amazon Basic branded TVs in India. It has also partnered with BestBuy to sell Toshiba and Insignia TVs that are powered by Amazon Fire TV software.

Meanwhile, Amazon is introducing a new feature, Adaptive Volume that will make Alexa respond louder if it detects a noisy background.

According to the company, the mode is meant to make sure that users can still hear Alexa’s responses over any background noise, like the sound of dishwasher, people talking, or music playing on another device.

Amazon doesn’t mention adaptive volume working in the opposite direction, becoming quieter if there’s no background noise, but there are other ways to reduce the volume dynamically.
