According to media reports, Ishaan Khatter is the first choice of the makers to play the role of Major Dhyan Chand. “The makers felt that Ishaan will suit the part well, while the actor is also extremely excited to play such an important character. Ishaan has agreed to be a part of the project, however, he is yet to sign on the dotted line. As of now, the plan is to take the film on floors next year,” a source told Pinkvilla.

The much-awaited film will be directed by Abhishek Chaubey and was officially announced back in December 2020 under the banner of Ronnie Screwvala Productions (RSVP). With the announcement of the film, it was said that 1500+ goals, 3 Olympic gold medals, and the story of India’s pride. Happy that a biopic on India’s hockey magician Major Dhyan Chand is going to be made by the ‘Sonchiriya’ director, Abhishek Chaubey.

On the professional front, Ishaan will be next seen in Pippa, which also stars Mrunal Thakur. His other film, ‘Phone Bhoot’, which is expected to hit the silver screens next year also stars Katrina Kaif and Siddhant Chaturvedi alongside him.
