With Mimi in the experience list the actress has gained immense popularity, love and respect for presenting such a strong character which is known by all but spoken by none. Mimi was one of the many ladies who opt for surrogacy and then land up either aborting the pregnancy or raising the child themselves.

The actress has no time to sit back and enjoy the success of mimi, she is keen to try more such roles and doing biopic of legendary actresses.
This Dilwale actress said, she is keen about playing Madhubala’s role in her biopic. Speaking about who her favourite actresses are, she said, “There are certain personalities in our film industry who have been iconic and whose lives I feel people don’t really know much about. But people should know about them. And apart from Madhubalaji, I would love to play Meena Kumariji in her biopic. Both were iconic heroines of their time and I personally too would love to learn more about them.”

Coincident or causal, but there has been a lot of interest within the film industry around the biopic of Madhubala. Actress’s sister Madhur Bhusan seems really interested on filming the life and career of Madhubala, as she is lived an iconic life both on and off screen. Film maker Tigmanshu Dhulia too shows a lot of interest in filming the life of Meena Kumari, which is supposed to be played by Vidya Balan. Reports suggest that a web series is being planned on Meena Kumari’s dramatic life now.

Along with the eagerness to work as the 60s actress in a biopic, she also got clicked in the beautiful Manish Malhotra Bridal Lehengas, where the actress looked stunning and beautiful. She was praised for the subtleness and elegance that she carried in her look along with that attire. The actress is soon coming on big screens as she is being starred in,  ‘Adipurush’ with Prabhas, ‘Ganpath’ with Tiger Shroff,’Bachchan Pandey’ with Akshay Kumar and ‘Bhediya’ with Varun Dhawan. The actress had to gain weight to fit herself in the role. Kriti gained 15 kgs for the movie where she is playing the role of a surrogate mother for which she transformed herself so that she looks perfect for the role.

The beautiful actress shared a few scences of becoming”Mimi”. Kriti captioned the video as, “Gaining those kilosss,” here she talks about her transformation from Kriti to ‘Mimi’.

Kriti wrote, “Laxman sir (the director Laxman Utekar) told me… “Mimi, I wanna see your face and believe that you are pregnant.” Two months later when a new Kriti returned to the sets, she “didn’t want to see food.”

Sharing the video, the actress further wrote,” “Being blessed with a good metabolism and normally eating burgers and pizzas in life, gaining 15kgs was a challenge… I never thought I could do it, and there was a point when I didn’t wanna see food but when I saw how it translated on screen, it was all worth it.”

This shows the dedication and the hard work of the makers behind every film. It is not easy for an actress to gain weight and at the same time, it takes a lots of hard work and time to get into perfect shape.

However, “Mimi” will be premiered on July 30 on Jio Cinema and Netflix. The film also Pankaj Tripathi, Supriya Pathak, Sai Tamhankar and Manoj Pahwa and is beautifully penned by Rohan Shankar under the production of Dinesh Vijan under his banner Maddock Films. It will be a Hindi comedy drama as per the information received.

The final poster of the movie is out on the official social media handle of Netflix. It would be streaming from the 30th of July. Previously, Kriti had revealed that Mimi is a great film and would love to entertain the masses in theatres with their content but right now it looks difficult. The actress didn’t reveal anything further whether the film will get an OTT release or not. But owing to current situation of Covid-19 pandemic the makers have decided to stream the movie on the Netflix OTT Platform.

Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi have both worked with Laxman in the 2019 comedy, Luka Chuppi which turned out to be a hit. It will be interesting to see the trio unite again.

The shooting of the movie ended before the lockdown commenced last year. She has reportedly gained 15 kilograms for this role. The movie also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Supriya Pathak, Manoj Pahwa and others. Kriti plays the role of a surrogate mother in this movie. It is based on the Marathi Film, “Mai Aai Vhaaychy”, which won the National Award for the Best Feature Film in Marathi in the year 2011.   Famous cinematographer and director, Laxman Utekar directs the movie and it is produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films. The film is to hit the screens this July. But Kriti didn’t really mention if the movie would release in the theatres or on OTT Platforms. She mentioned that Mimi is a great film and would love to entertain the masses in theatres with their content but right now it looks difficult.
