Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged people to observe World Rivers Day and keep in mind the importance that the water body has in our lives. “We remember many days and celebrate different types. If you ask the young sons and daughters in your house, they will be able to give you a list of such days’. But there is one more day that we all should remember and this day is consistent with the traditions of India,” PM Modi, who concluded his official three-day visit to the United States, said during the 81st edition of Mann ki Baat.

“It is about connecting with the traditions with which we have been associated for centuries. This is World Rivers Day,” he added, World Rivers Day is observed on the fourth Sunday of every September and celebrates the world’s waterways. According to the site dedicated to the day, it highlights the many values of rivers and strives to increase public awareness and encourages the improved stewardship of rivers around the world.

PM Modi also said that proceeds from the ongoing special e-auction of the gifts he receives will be dedicated to the government’s flagship project ‘Namami Ganga’. The government has set up a dedicated site – pmmementos.gov.in – to display and e–auction the mementos that are priced between Rs 100 and Rs 30,000. Visitors to the site can filter through the mementos on the basis of the price range.

The maiden bilateral meet between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden on September 24 will allow taking the relationship between the two countries from strength to strength while helping in reinforcing and giving momentum to the Quad grouping, a White House official has said.

Biden will host Modi at the white house for their first bilateral meeting on September 24. Later on that day, Biden will host the first-ever in person Quad Leaders’ Summit at the White House with Modi, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

Both Biden and PM Modi have spoken virtually on multiple occasions after the former, a Democrat, became US president in January. The last telephone conversation between Prime Minister Modi and President Biden took place on April 26.

“The leaders will be focused on strengthening the deep ties between their people and shared democratic values that have underpinned the special bond between the United States for more than seven decades,” a White House official told PTI.

“The Biden-Harris administration has enhanced our partnership with India by working together to uphold free and open Indo-Pacific efforts to end the COVID-19 pandemic, and taking concerted action to address the climate crisis,” the official said.

Addressing a press conference earlier, a senior official of the administration said the Biden-Modi meeting would be an opportunity to go from strength, from the point of view of the partnership with India.

Here are some quotes said by Mr Narendra Modi which inspire not only Indians but many other people across the globe.

Everyone knows who Narendra Modi is. He is an Indian politician serving as the 14th and current Prime Minister of India since 2014 he was the chief minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 and is the member of parliament for Varanasi he is the first Prime Minister born after India’s independence in 1947. Modi is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) and its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) he is also a member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak sang (RSS).

Here are some quotes said by Mr Narendra Modi which inspire not only Indians but many other people across the globe:

“Social media is reducing social barriers. It connects people on the strength of human values, not identities.”

“I believe you never get tired by doing work. You get tired when you don’t work. When you clean your house, you don’t get tired; it gives you satisfaction.”

“I was born in a very poor family. I used to sell tea in a railway coach as a child. My mother used to wash utensils and do lowly household work in the houses of others to earn a livelihood. I have seen poverty very closely. I have lived in poverty. As a child, my entire childhood was steeped in poverty.”

“All religions and all communities have the same rights, and it is my responsibility to ensure their complete and total protection. My government will not tolerate or accept any discrimination based on caste, creed and religion.”

“We walk together, we move together, we think together, we resolve together, and together we take this country forward.”

“Federalism is no longer the fault line of Centre-State relations but the definition of a new partnership of Team India. Citizens now have the ease of trust, not the burden of proof and process. Businesses find an environment that is open and easy to work in.”

“E-governance is easy governance, effective governance, and also economic governance. E-governance paves the way for good governance.”

“I always say the strength of democracy lies in criticism. If there is no criticism, that means there is no democracy. And if you want to grow, you must invite criticism. And I want to grow; I want to invite criticism.”

“I don’t carry the burden of the past or the madness of the future. I live in the present.”

“Good governance with good intentions is the hallmark of our government. Implementation with integrity is our core passion.”
