The post-lockdown era surely didn’t open up on a good note as far as Bollywood films are concerned. We have seen umpteen films release in the theatres but only two of them have had a successful run at the ticket windows!
It all boils down to the kind of content that is being shelled out on the big screen. Evidently, the Coronavirus pandemic has shuffled mindsets and the thought process of the moviegoers too have had a titanic change. They are looking for fresh content and even fresher talent.
Recently, seasoned casting director Kartik Paliwal turned executive producer with Dreamcatcher that stars the original He-man of Bollywood Dharamendra and he has been actively involved in producing music videos for Zee Music and other reputed music companies. The film is garnering quite the attention on the OTT platform MXPlayer. Kartik is now all set for his next production venture that has been tentatively titled “Bhag Daku Bhag”

Yes, you read that right. Well, Paliwal Entertainment and Rajvidya Productions have joined hands once again after their first collaboration “Dreamcatcher” for this film and they have managed to rope in the legendary actor Sanjay Mishra for the lead role.

We got in touch with Kartik and he told us as the name of the film suggests, “it is based on the plight of dacoits and will be set in the hinterland of India. Most of the shoot will take place in Uttar Pradesh” He further revealed that the film will be directed by award winning director Santoshh Shivamm. Point to be noted out here is Shivamm also previously directed the Hollywood short Dreamcatcher which also starred Australian actor Travis Jeffery and Miss Fiji 2016 Pooja Priyanka in the lead roles beside our very own Dharamji!

One of the most versatile and veteran actors of the Indian Film Industry, Sanjay Mishra turns 58 today and we bring in a piece of news from his professional life. Sanjay Mishra and Brijendra Kala-starrer ‘Samosa And Sons’ is all set to release on a digital platform. Though the name of the streaming platform is yet to be revealed.

Helmed by Shalini Shah, ‘Samosa And Sons’ calls for an average Indian man’s irrepressible longing for a son and the age-old patriarchal conditioning that informs it. Recently, an event promoting the film and announcing its launch was held at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, where Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari was the chief guest.

Speaking about the film, Sanjay said, “Last year we were all amid a pandemic and the situation was very grave at that time, we didn’t know what will happen in the future, slowly and steadily things started to streamline. With God’s grace we shot a beautiful film called Samosa & Sons, not only is the film beautifully woven but all of us have worked extremely hard on it.”

Director Shalini Shah expressed, “Light and entertaining in its tone, Samosa And Sons is a satire on the hypocrisy of our society that tries to conceal the desire of a son, but fails. The situational comedy becomes the apt tone to talk about the deep patriarchal conditioning in all of us”.

‘Samosa And Sons’ which is touted as a situational comedy also stars Neha Garg, Jeetu Shashtri, Meera Suyal, Rachna Bisht, and Minal Sah. Sanjay, on professional front also has Jogira Sara Ra Ra, Mumbaikar and KTina in his pipeline.
