SS Rajamouli shares his view on Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn’s roles in RRR: ‘They are cameos, won’t cheat my audience’

SS Rajamouli directorial RRR is all set to hit screens on January 7. However, Rajamouli in a recent interview with indianexpress.com confirmed that Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt have cameos in the film which directly impact the story.

Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli was asked about Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn’s characters and length of their roles. To this, he stated “A role cannot be based on its length. Both Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn’s roles are very important. If we look at RRR as a body, then Ajay sir’s character in the film is its soul. And we know there are two forces, two powerhouses in the movie, and if there is one person who has to balance them, who has the ability and the strength to contain them, then it is Sita, played by Alia Bhatt. They are playing cameos in the film, I am not going to cheat the audience about it. In terms of importance, they are equally and sometimes they are more important than the heroes themselves.”

Moreover, speaking about the impact of Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn cast to Hindi-speaking audiences to watch RRR, he stated, “No, and I am very sure about it. When I made Makkhi or Baahubali, I never looked for actors to be from other languages to fill in some sort of economic conditions. But, it is always about actors fitting the characters convincingly and having personality traits that the characters demand and deserve.”

‘RRR’ makers planned an extravaganza event for promoting it in Mumbai on Sunday titled ‘Roar of RRR’. The lead stars like Ram Charan, Jr NTR and Alia Bhatt attended the event, moreover, mega star Salman Khan also joined them on stage. And the event will be aired on Star TV very soon.

However, Karan Johar, actor Shriya Saran and director SS Rajamouli were also a part of the event. On the other hand, during the RRR event, Salman surprised the audience by making a big announcement that Bajrangi Bhaijaan is on the cards.

Bhaijaan made the revelation while talking about how SS Rajamouli’s father K.V Vijayendra Prasad gave him one of his biggest films. As KJo asked, “So can we say, this is the official announcement of the film?” to this, Salman replied in affirmative.

Moreover, Salman Khan said about Ram Charan that he knows him for a while. Mr. Khan also called him the ‘most hardworking’ man. As he added that every time he meets Ram Charan, he is injured because of the efforts he puts in each of his projects. He furthter stated that no one should release their film for four months to avoid the massive competition.

On the other hand, Director Rajamouli also appreciated his actors. According to Pinkvilla report, the filmmaker also spoke about the differences between the two stars. “Many people asked me what’s the diff between Tarak and Charan. Charan is like a deep river filled with the brim. He is calm, but there is a lot of potential energy inside. Tarak is a thundering waterfall, full of life. That is kinetic energy.”

The director also opened up about their introduction scene in RRR, “The kind of trouble I gave them. For Tarak’s intro section, we made him run in a jungle in Bulgaria without chappals. And he ran like a tiger. As for Charan, we pushed him in the middle of 2000 people, there was sweat, dust, and blood. It is one of the best I have shot in my career.”

S.S. Rajamouli’s directorial movie ‘RRR’ is all set to hit silver screens across several languages on 7th January, 2022. Therefore, the preparation for its promotion is going on in full swings. As per reports, the makers are going to conduct an extensive pre-release event for the Hindi belt, which will be held on the 19th of December in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the event will have B-Town power star Salman Khan as the chief guest. Moreover, the makers will reportedly disclose the event’s venue, timings and other details soon, along with the pre-release events of other languages.
On the other side, SS Rajamouli will be attending the media event of the forthcoming Bollywood film ‘Brahmastra’ shortly. And the makers are reportedly arranging an extravaganza media event this Saturday in Hyderabad. However, celebs like SS Rajamouli, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and the movie’s director Ayan Mukerji will be seen in that event.

Indian cinema is undoubtedly one of the biggest industries in the world and not many know that there are a few actors who belong to the exclusive 100 crore club, where they drive back home after each film with a cheque that has more than 7 zeros in it. We hear, there is yet another star who has waltzed his way into this club. Well, reliable sources from Tinseltown happily yet proudly disclosed that Mega Power Star Ram Charan has signed a huge pan India film, including the latest one for a whopping amount of 100 crores!

Ram Charan has done what one can only dream of, he has signed huge magnum opus movies like SS Rajamouli’s RRR which is set to release on Jan 7, 2022. Followed by Acharya, where Mega Star Chiranjeevi and Mega Power Star Ram Charan will be seen on screen together in a full-fledged role for the first time. It doesn’t stop here, Ram Charan is also working on RC 15 opposite Kiara Advani and directed by S Shankar and prepping for his next with Gowtam Tinnanuri bankrolled by UV creations.

A trade analyst on the condition of anonymity informs that, “It is seldom that you see a star work on 4 projects simultaneously and to enter the Hindi Film Industry with RRR followed by a massive line up. This is one actor who can do it all and the audiences are already floored with what they have seen with the RRR assets. It is also believed that Ram Charan is now part of the 100 crore remuneration club. He has arrived and he is here to stay!”

Ram Charan has been trending for the last few months, both for this philanthropy and his acting chops in RRR and Acharya. While RRR is releasing on January 7, 2022, Acharya is releasing on February 4, 2022. RC15 is believed to be releasing in February 2023.

After SS Rajamouli’s RRR announced its new release date as January 7, the box office seems to heat up as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial Gangubai Kathiawadi starring has its release date as January 6. Both of these films stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in titular roles and is set to have one of the biggest box office clashes ever.

Earlier, SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR was supposed to release on October 13 as a Diwali treat for Jr NTR and Ram Charan fans. However, earlier this month the makers announced that they will release the film on a new date “when the world cinema markets are up and running.” Whereas Gangubai Kathiawadi was too awaiting a theatrical release as PEN Movies denied choosing an OTT route.

RRR, which marks the regional debut of Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn is a fictional period drama about two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR), who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively.

Meanwhile, Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on S Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’, which is based on the true life of a brothel owner and a matriarch turned politician Gangubai who hailed from Kamathipura. In this film where Alia is playing Gangubai, Ajay Devgn will helm the character of Karim Lala.

Surprisingly, both of these films are being distributed by the same company: PEN Marudhar Entertainment. After knowing the fact that a clash results in at least a portion of the business being divided, we wonder why this company would want to release two lavish starrer big films at the same time? Stated as India’s first fictional YouTube Original Show, ‘Dhindora’ is an 8-parts web show created by Bhuvan Bam and directed by Himank Gaur. The episodes are all set to premiere every Thursday starting from 14th October. Also starring Gayatri Bhardwaj, Anup Soni and Rajesh Tailang, Dhindora will stream on the official youtube channel of ‘BB Ki Vines’.

Stated as India’s first fictional YouTube Original Show, this 8-parts web show is created by Bhuvan Bam and helmed by Himank Gaur.
