Gadar 2: Sunny Deol announces the wrap of the first schedule of film

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was one of the biggest hits of 2001 and is still a moment in cinema that no one will forget. The film stands tall even today and has a strong recall value. 20 Years Later, Sunny Deol And Ameesha Patel Are Back With “The Biggest Ever Sequel”. On the 20 year anniversary of Gadar Sunny Deol, Anil Sharma and Zee studios announced the sequel Gadar 2 with a motion poster which is a dramatic one, featuring fire burning through cracks on the soil, hinting at how intense the sequel is going to be.

Between October and November the cast has been sharing picture of creative sessions, script reading sessions, shoot commencing pictures, on location pictures. The film has been shot in the beautiful mountains of Himachal Pradesh.

After 25 days of shoot, sunny Deol announces the wrap of the first schedule with an emotional message saying “Only a fortunate few get to bring amazing characters back to life. Presenting Tara Singh 20 years later! Wrapped the first schedule of #Gadar2. Feeling blessed 🙏🏻” with pictures of Tara Singh. The picture shows sunny Deol as Tara Singh looking majestic with kindness in his eyes.

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 to go on floors this November

Anil Sharma’s evergreen 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha is all set to return with its part 2. On 20 years of the film’s release, Anil has said in an interview, “The entire world wants to see Tara Singh back and I would love to make 10 films on that character. But it’s difficult to make Gadar 2. One needs a bomb of emotion, drama and grandeur. Whenever Gadar 2 is announced, you can assume that I have got that bomb.” And now it seems like he has finally found a bomb.

A source close to the development has revealed, “Anil Sharma and his team of writers have been trying to crack the plot of a sequel to Gadar for a while now and they finally have the entire screenplay in place. Much like the first part, the sequel too will speak of the India – Pakistan conflict with Sunny Deol taking down the entire country. The pre-production work has already begun and the makers are gearing up to take the film on floors around November,”

The sequel will be produced by Anil Sharma in association with Zee Studios. In this sequel, Sunny Deol’s character of Tara Singh returns to Pakistan, however, this time for his son. “Gadar was a juggernaut of emotions with Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) fighting against the whole of Pakistan for the love of his life, Sakeena (Ameesha Patel). In the second instalment, the makers have zeroed in on the father-son emotion,” the source added. Apart from the trio of Sunny, Ameesha and Anil’s son Utkarsh, the makers are in the process of casting a fresh face to play Utkarsh’s romantic interest.

Sunny Deol’s son Rajveer Deol to debut in a Sooraj Barjatya’s film?

In the cinema business now, Sooraj’s son Avnish Barjatya is gearing up to make his foray and reportedly Sunny Deol’s younger son Rajveer Deol will make his Bollywood debut under Avnish directorial. Interestingly, this coming-of-age love story was initially offered to Kartik Aaryan and Meezaan Jaffrey.

A source revealed, “It is a mystery why Kartik and Meezaan didn’t do the film. It all seemed set when Kartik was in talks and ditto when Meezaan. However, now everything is settled. It’s Rajveer. The rest of the cast is soon going to be worked out. As for the female lead opposite Rajveer, it will be a new girl.”

Sunny Deol’s elder son Karan Deol made his Bollywood debut in a 2019 film directed by his father named, ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’. The film failed to impress the audience as well as the critics. Speaking about life post debut, Karan said to HT, “After my debut, I was left on my own. I’ve been taking all the decisions on my own. Dad (Sunny Deol) said, ‘You be your own person, take your own calls, learn from your mistakes’. That’s the only way. Especially with what happened, right after Pal Pal Dil… , there was the pandemic and we were restricted to our homes.”
