1. Sardar Udham – 9.2

Shoojit Sircar’s directorial Sardar Udham received an overwhelming response across the nation. This is a biopic of Sardar Udham Singh, who was well-known for assassinating General O’Dwyer in London for avenging the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh Masssacre in Amritsar, Punjab. The film stars Vicky Kaushal in the titular role.

2. Shershaah – 8.7

Vishnuvardhan’s directorial venture Shershaah is a biopic on the Kargil war hero Capt. Vikram Batra. The soldier who was in love with a girl called Dimple laid down his life for his motherland after vowing to marry his ladylove as a result of which the promises couldn’t be fulfilled.

However, the biographical war movie features Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead roles.

3. Mimi – 8 

Mimi is a 2021 comedy-drama film written and directed by Laxman Utekar and co-written by Rohan Shankar. A remake of the Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy. The film stars Kriti Sanon in the lead role of an ambitious small town young girl who decides to be the surrogate mother for a barren foreign couple. Others gracing the film were Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa, Supriya Pathak, Evelyn Edwards and Aidan Whytock in supporting roles.

Kaagaz is a biographical comedy film written and directed by Satish Kaushik and produced by Salman Khan and Nishant Kaushik under the banner of Salman Khan Films and The Satish Kaushik Entertainment Production. The film stars Pankaj Tripathi and Monal Gajjar with Amar Upadhyay who played the main roles. Bugs Bhargava Krishna directorial Nail Polish is a legal thriller drama film. The movie is all about the trial of a popular social activist who is accused of raping and murdering two migrant children while also suspected of killing others. Nail Polish premiered on ZEE5 on 1 January 2021. Actors like Arjun Rampal, Manav Kaul, Madhoo, Rajit Kapur and Anand Tiwari feature in the lead roles.

The film is a screen adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s novel of the same name. The movie story is about a rich Indian family’s ambitious driver.

Umesh Bist directorial Pagglait is a black comedy-drama film. It tells the story of a young widow, with an inability to grieve, who is learning to deal with the entire family and also discover secrets about her late husband. This movie stars Sanya Malhotra, Ashutosh Rana, Shruti Sharma and Raghubir Yadav in pivotal roles.

Sherni is an action adventure film directed by Amit V. Masurkar and produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment. Vidya Balan plays the leading role of an Indian Forest Service officer.
